Hey Philly procrastinators! You know who you are. 😉

Finish Up Weekend is coming back to @indyhall again in January. 🚀Make sure you’re on the waiting list for early access/discounted tix.

Tired of people skipping Philly on their book tours, I started an event series called "Pilcrow House." There are already two events in works!

11/29 - Scott Belsky (Adobe) on "The Messy Middle" of starting a new thing.

1/10 - Taylor Lorenz (The Atlantic) on online culture wars, misinformation and memes.

Tix are $25 and under:

See you there?

‪Come see my talk, “Reframing the Conversation around Digital Accessibility” at 2:15pm in F55! I’ll give a 101 on digital accessibility, the audience and an empathetic way to look at how we talk and think about it in our work.

I missed FinishUp Weekend but still got it out! I just launched a new event series in Philly called Pilcrow House. The goal is to provide a place to discuss issues that matter in business, politics, and culture. I think you'll like it! More here:

What are the coolest small event spaces around Philadelphia?Think 50-100 people with a single speaker or interview. The quirkier the better.

I know about SEER, PAFA, La Colombe.... any others you love?

I know we do a lot of Twitter v Mastodon comparisons here. One thing that I'm struck by is how... irrelevant Twitter feels the past few months. How something being a "big deal" on a given corner of Twitter doesn't seem to matter any more beyond the platform.

Curious if anyone disagrees.

Thanks everyone. Turns out I didnt understand what "home" did.

Newbie question: If the local timeline shows everyone in your instance, what’s the utility of “following” people?

In retrospect, the explosion of private Slacks was a precursor to Mastodon.
